Gallery & History
CyberSnap maintains a persistent history of all your captures, OCR results, barcode scans, and color samples. The Gallery provides a searchable interface to browse, manage, and re-use your captures.
History Types

Main View
- Grid layout — Thumbnail view of all captures
- List layout — Compact list with metadata
- Sort by — Date, name, size, type
- Filter by — Type, date range, source
Capture Details
Click any capture to view:
- Full-size preview
- Capture date and time
- Source (area, window, scroll, etc.)
- File size and dimensions
- Associated OCR text
- File path
Search
Full-Text Search
Search across all indexed content:
- OCR-extracted text
- Barcode/QR content
- File names and paths
- Custom metadata
Filter Options

Actions on Captures
Click Actions
Configure what happens when you click a capture in the Gallery:

|---|---|
| Open in editor | Launch the annotation editor |
| Copy to clipboard | Copy the image to clipboard |
| Open in default viewer | Open with your image viewer |
| Open containing folder | Show the file in Explorer |
| Upload | Share via configured provider |
| Delete | Remove from history and disk |
Batch Actions
- Select multiple captures (Ctrl+click, Shift+click)
- Copy, delete, or export multiple items at once
History Retention
Configure how long captures are retained:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Never | Keep all captures indefinitely |
| 1 day | Auto-delete captures older than 1 day |
| 7 days | Auto-delete captures older than 7 days |
| 30 days | Auto-delete captures older than 30 days |
| 90 days | Auto-delete captures older than 90 days |
Storage Limits
- Set a maximum number of captures to retain
- Configure maximum total storage size
- Option to auto-cleanup when limits are reached
Data Storage
All history data is stored locally in a SQLite database:
- Location:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\CyberSnap\history.db - Images: Stored in the configured captures folder
- Index: Full-text search index for fast queries
No data is sent to external servers unless you explicitly upload a capture.
