Settings

CyberFeeds provides extensive configuration options accessible through the Settings panel.

Settings Categories

General

Setting Description
Theme CyberFeeds, White, Purple, Blue, Gray, Yellow
Layout 3-panel, 2-panel, 1-panel, horizontal-split
Language English, Spanish
Polling interval Minutes between feed refresh (default: 15)
Auto-start with Windows Launch at sign-in
Start minimized Start in system tray
Minimize to tray Minimize sends to tray
Auto-update Check for updates automatically
Custom browser path External browser executable
Unread only Show only unread articles by default
Compact article list Dense list view
Show article thumbnails Thumbnails in article list
Instant search Search while typing

Reading

Setting Description
Font size Reader text size
Line height Spacing between lines
Max width Maximum content width
Reading theme Sepia, dark, light
Sidebar font size Sidebar text size
List font size Article list text size

Polling

Setting Description
Polling enabled Enable background polling
Polling interval Minutes between refresh cycles
Fetch on startup Fetch articles when app launches
Fetch on startup delay Delay before first fetch
Poll only when unfocused Reduce resource usage when active
Auto-fetch full content Extract full article text

Notifications

Themes

Available Themes

Theme Application

  • Themes apply immediately
  • All UI elements update
  • Custom CSS variables per theme
  • Reading theme independent of UI theme

Data Management

Backup

Create a full backup of your data:

  1. Go to Settings → Data → Backup
  2. Choose save location
  3. Backup includes: feeds, articles, settings

Restore

Restore from a backup:

  1. Go to Settings → Data → Restore
  2. Select backup file
  3. App restarts with restored data

OPML Import/Export

Action Description
Import OPML Add feeds from another reader
Export OPML Export feeds for backup/transfer

Cleanup

Setting Description
Cleanup read articles Auto-delete read articles after N days
Auto-cleanup on startup Run cleanup on launch

Custom Browser

Configure a custom browser for opening articles:

  1. Go to Settings → General
  2. Set Custom browser path
  3. Articles open in your preferred browser

Window State

CyberFeeds remembers window state:

  • Window position and size
  • Panel sizes and splitter positions
  • Sidebar collapsed state
  • Last selected feed and article

State is saved automatically and restored on next launch.
