Installation and Setup

Installation & Setup

This guide covers installing CyberManager, building from source, and running the application.

System Requirements

Requirement Minimum
OS Windows 10 (64-bit) or later
Architecture x64 or ARM64
Runtime .NET 10 (included in installer)
Disk space ~100 MB
RAM 2 GB

Installation Methods

Installer (Recommended)

  1. Download the latest installer from Releases
  2. Run the .exe installer
  3. Follow the setup wizard
  4. Launch CyberManager. Opening it again restores the existing window within the same Windows session.

What the Installer Does

  • Installs the application
  • Creates Start Menu shortcuts
  • Creates Desktop shortcut (optional)
  • Creates an elevated sign-in task when the startup option is selected; the installed app starts minimized

Portable ZIP

  1. Download the portable ZIP from releases
  2. Extract to any folder
  3. Run CyberManager.exe

Windows SmartScreen

Windows may show a SmartScreen warning the first time you run the CyberManager installer; this is expected until Windows builds enough reputation for the file. The same can appear when launching the portable build.

To continue:

  1. Click More info.
  2. Click Run anyway.

Building from Source

Prerequisites

Tool Version
.NET 10 SDK Latest

Build

# Build the solution
dotnet build

# Run the application
dotnet run --project src/CyberManager.UI/CyberManager.UI.csproj

Publish

# Publish self-contained for x64
dotnet publish src/CyberManager.UI/CyberManager.UI.csproj -c Release -r win-x64 --self-contained true -o ./publish-win64

Create Installer

Compile the Inno Setup script:

iscc CyberManager.iss

Auto-Start

CyberManager can launch automatically when you sign in:

Enable/Disable

  • Settings → General → Start with Windows
  • The scheduled task is named CyberManager in Windows Task Scheduler; it uses the highest available privileges

CyberManager uses an elevated scheduled task for startup. If creating the task fails or UAC is declined, the app can fall back to a per-user registry startup entry; that fallback does not guarantee elevation. Enable startup from the installed app and accept UAC when requested to configure the elevated task.

Start Minimized

  • Startup registration passes --minimized automatically
  • App starts in system tray

Uninstallation

Standard Uninstall

  1. Windows Settings → Apps → Installed Apps
  2. Find CyberManager → Click Uninstall

What Gets Removed

  • Program files
  • Start Menu shortcuts
  • Auto-start entry

What Is Kept

  • Settings (in %LOCALAPPDATA%\CyberManager)

⚠️ To remove all data, manually delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\CyberManager after uninstalling.
