OCR & Image Viewer
CyberPaste includes a full-screen image viewer with OCR text extraction, allowing you to view clipboard images and extract text from them.
Image Viewer
Opening the Viewer
- Double-click an image clip
- Right-click image → Open in viewer
- Click the viewer icon on image clip cards
Viewer Features

OCR Text Extraction
How OCR Works
- Open an image clip in the viewer
- Click the OCR button
- CyberPaste uses Windows Media OCR API
- Text extraction runs locally on your machine
- Results appear in the OCR Result modal
Supported Languages
Windows Media OCR supports:
- English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese
- Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean
- Russian, Arabic, Dutch, Polish, Swedish
- And more (based on Windows language packs)
OCR Result Modal
After extraction, the modal displays:
- Extracted text in an editable text box
- Detected language
- Confidence indicator
- Copy button
- Save to clip button (creates new text clip)
OCR Tips
- High resolution — Larger images give better results
- Good contrast — Dark text on light background works best
- Straight orientation — Avoid skewed or rotated text
- Clean background — Remove noise behind text

Image Capture
Images are captured from the clipboard in the highest available resolution:
- PNG preferred for lossless quality
- DPI information preserved
- Color profile retained
External Editor
Configure an external image editor for advanced editing:
- Go to Settings → General
- Set Image editor path to your preferred editor
- The viewer will open images in that editor
Supported editors:
- Paint.NET
- Photoshop
- GIMP
- Any editor with command-line open support
