Customization

CyberLauncher offers background, glass, scale, language, and animation options (Settings → APPEARANCE, GENERAL, SYSTEM).

Backgrounds (Settings → APPEARANCE)

Background Types (BACKGROUND TYPE)

Type Description
Image Packaged preset photo or your own upload
Gradient Color gradient background
Solid Single color background

Customize the visual background theme of the launcher.

Preset Images (PRESET BACKGROUND IMAGES)

Pick a preset, upload from your PC, or paste an image URL.

  • Packaged presets ship with the app (relative names, survive install on any PC)
  • One-click apply with live preview
  • Legacy absolute-path backgrounds auto-migrate to current presets

Custom Slot (4th Thumbnail)

The grid's last slot is your persistent custom image:

  • Browse your PC or paste a CUSTOM BACKGROUND (URL) (https://example.com/background.jpg) + Apply
  • Live thumbnail (local files resolved from disk, http/data: URLs shown directly)
  • Permanent corner X clears it (Remove custom image); hovering the slot reveals the browse button

Peeking

While you drag background sliders or change image / colors, blur is temporarily hidden (CyberFeeds pattern) so you can judge the raw artwork, then restored on release.

Glass & Readability (Settings → APPEARANCE)

Setting Description
BACKDROP BLUR LEVEL Adjust the background blur intensity to improve readability (slider direction fixed v1.9.x, live preview, 0% = full clarity)
BACKGROUND OPACITY Control the background transparency of the launcher window
Glass intensity Frosted-glass strength of panels (translucent backgrounds + neon accent glows); also drives image dimming

There is no separate "dark overlay" slider and no accent-color picker, the neon cyan identity is fixed.

Scales (Two Different Settings)

Setting Location Effect
CARD SIZE GRID SCALE Settings → GENERAL Adjust grid scale to view more or fewer apps without scrolling (card density)
INTERFACE SCALE Settings → APPEARANCE Adjust the global rendering scale of CyberLauncher UI (whole-interface render scale)

The wiki previously listed 0.8× / 1.0× / 1.2× / 1.4× presets, those do not exist. Both scales are sliders.

Language

Bilingual UI

CyberLauncher ships a full English / Spanish interface (locales.ts, instant switch, persisted in config + Backup export).

Switching Language

  1. Go to Settings → GENERAL → INTERFACE LANGUAGE
  2. Select the display language for CyberLauncher menus and panels
  3. Choose English or Español; changes apply instantly

Translation Scope

Menus, buttons, settings labels, tooltips, hints ('>' Terminal • [Tab] System), notifications, confirmations, HUDs, terminal help, and update dialogs are all translated.

Performance Tips

On lower-end systems:

  • Lower BACKDROP BLUR LEVEL (blur is the costliest effect)
  • Prefer Solid backgrounds over large images
