Notifications
Notifications
CyberPaste uses smart HUD toast notifications to keep you informed about clipboard events without interrupting your workflow.

Toast Appearance
HUD Style
Toasts appear as compact cards:
- Corner or edge positioning (configurable)
- Auto-dismiss after the configured duration
- Progress bar counting down the remaining time
- Smooth animations
Toast Position
| Position |
|---|
| Top-left · Top-right · Bottom-left · Bottom-center (default) · Bottom-right |
Toast Settings
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Enabled | Master toast toggle |
| Position | Screen placement (5 options, default bottom-center) |
| Duration | How long toasts stay visible (default 3000 ms) |
| Duplicate toast | Show duplicate detection notices |
| Monitor | Target monitor for toasts |
| Click action | What happens when you click a toast |
| Show action messages | Confirmation toasts for actions |
Quiet Hours
Enable Quiet hours in Settings → Notifications and choose a start and end time. During the configured window, non-critical notifications and their associated sounds are suppressed. Critical alerts continue to appear.
Quiet hours cover capture, duplicate, copy, welcome, and other routine feedback sounds. They do not disable clipboard capture or delete notifications from history.
Toast Click Actions
Configure what happens when you click a toast:
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| None | Click does nothing |
| Close | Dismiss the toast (default) |
| Open | Open the main clipboard window |
| System viewer | Open the clip in the system viewer (e.g. image) |
| Toggle pin | Pin/unpin the captured clip |
Sound Configuration
Built-in Sounds
Three bundled WAV sounds, played through the Windows MCI engine:
- Capture — played when a clip is stored
- Duplicate — played when a duplicate is detected
- Activation / startup — played at launch
No external files are needed; if a sound file is missing, playback is silently skipped.
Custom Sounds
You can point the capture and startup sounds at your own files:
- Go to Settings → Clipboard
- Set a custom sound path for the capture or startup sound
- Toggle each sound event independently (capture sound, startup sound)
Supported Formats
WAV and MP3 (via Windows MCI). Volume follows the system volume.
Notification Privacy
Toasts show the same clip preview as the clipboard cards: there is no "hide content" mode. If a source application is sensitive, add it to the Ignored Applications list (Settings → Privacy) so nothing from it is captured or notified at all.
