Alarms & Chimes
CyberClock includes hourly chimes and an Alarms view for as many alarms as you need: once, every day, weekdays, weekends, or selected days.
Chimes
Chime Intervals
Each interval is independent and has its own enabled flag, sound selector, and instant test button. Overall chime loudness is controlled by a dedicated Chimes Volume slider in Settings → Time → Hourly Chimes, preserving your alarm volume:
| Interval | Fires at |
|---|---|
| Top of the hour | :00 |
| Half hour | :00, :30 |
| Quarter hour | :00, :15, :30, :45 |
Built-in Sounds
| Sound | Description |
|---|---|
| Crystal Bell | Traditional bell chime |
| Soft Chime | Gentle digital chime (default for full-hour) |
| Neon Arp | Electronic arpeggio |
| Zen Gong | Deep gong |
| Aurora | Soft ambient tone |
| Music Box | Short music-box melody |
A chime never fires twice for the same minute (deduplicated), and custom audio files are supported per interval.
Schedule Window
Limit when chimes play (Settings → Time → Hourly Chimes):
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Play sound from … to … only | Chimes only play inside this window; enable the row with its toggle |
💡 Useful for silencing chimes at night.
Alarms
The Alarms view (full mode) is the list. Open an alarm to edit its name in the large title. Each alarm can have:
| Property | Description |
|---|---|
| Schedule | Once, every day, weekdays, weekends, or selected days |
| Time / date | Clock time, with the date beside it when the alarm runs once |
| Message | Text shown when it rings |
| Sound | No sound, one of twenty synthesized tones, or your own MP3 or WAV |
| Repeat | A set number of times, or until you dismiss the notice |
| Pause | Seconds between repeats |
| Snooze | 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes. The button shows the delay |
| Delete after the alarm | Removes the alarm when you dismiss the notice. Snooze keeps it |
A one-time alarm turns itself off after it rings. While it is ringing, full mode is taken over by the notice, and Mini Mode shows its own. Snooze keeps the alarm enabled and the next-alarm card counts down to that time. Dismissing on either window closes the notice on both.
Clone is in the alarm card menu, and in the designer only while you are editing an existing alarm. The copy is saved and highlighted in the list.
Templates save a setup without scheduling it. Save as template confirms in the designer. The same name replaces the previous template. TEMPLATES appears on the Alarms view only when you have at least one. Choose one to start a new alarm, or remove it with the ×.
Your own sound
- Open the alarm in the Alarms view
- Choose Use your own sound and pick an MP3 or WAV
- The file is copied into the app data folder and plays instead of the tone list. Test plays that file only
Voice Time Announcer (Talking Clock)
CyberClock speaks the current time once through your speakers or headphones, using Windows speech (Settings → Time → Voice Time Announcer).
