Article Management

CyberFeeds provides comprehensive article management with reading, organizing, and full-content extraction.

Article List

Layouts

Choose your preferred reading layout:

Layout	Description
3-panel	Sidebar + Article List + Article Viewer
2-panel	Sidebar + Article List (or Viewer)
1-panel	Single panel view
Horizontal-split	List on top, viewer on bottom

Article Cards

Each article shows:

Title and summary
Publication date
Source feed name
Thumbnail image (if available)
Read/unread indicator
Star status

Clicking a selected article card deselects it and returns to the welcome screen.

Filtering

Filter	Description
All	Show all articles
Unread	Only unread articles
Starred	Only starred articles
Today	Articles from today

Sorting

Newest first: Default, most recent at top
Oldest first: Chronological order

Article Tabs

CyberFeeds supports multi-article reading via browser-style tabs:

Open in Tabs: Open multiple articles simultaneously in foreground or background tabs
Tab Counter & Switcher: Interactive counter button with a dropdown menu displaying all open tabs for fast navigation
Chevron Scrolling: Tab strips smoothly scroll horizontally when overflowing without shifting page layout
Session Restore: Open tabs are automatically preserved and restored across application restarts

Reading Articles

Article Viewer

Click an article to open in the viewer:

Full article text with formatting
Images and embedded media
YouTube video playback inside the viewer when configured
A floating toolbar for searching, copying, or translating selected text
Original article link
Publication metadata

Reader Mode

Clean, distraction-free reading:

Adjustable font size
Configurable line height
Maximum content width
Reading theme (sepia, dark, light)

Text Selection

Select text inside an article (including article titles starting smoothly from the very first character) to open the floating selection toolbar:

Search: Search the selected text on Google
Copy: Copy the selected text to the clipboard
Translate: Translate the selected text

The toolbar can be enabled or disabled in Settings → General → Floating text selection toolbar.

In-Article Search

Press Ctrl+F or click the search icon in the reader toolbar to open the in-article search bar:

Real-time text highlighting without disrupting active video or audio playback
Match counter displaying current match index and total results (e.g. "3/12")
Next match (Enter or F3) and Previous match (Shift+Enter or Shift+F3) navigation
Matches smoothly scroll into center view
Press Escape or click the close button to dismiss the search bar and remove highlights

Sticky Reader Header

When scrolling down past the main article header:

A compact sticky bar slides down smoothly beneath the toolbar
Displays the feed favicon and article title
Native tooltip preview on hover
Click anywhere on the header or top arrow icon to instantly scroll back to the top of the article

YouTube Playback

YouTube articles show their featured image with an enlarged play control. Depending on your preference in Settings → Reading Preferences → Play YouTube videos in-app:

In-App Streaming: Plays the video embedded directly inside the article viewer, cleanly initialized in a paused state to prevent unwanted audio.
External Browser: Opens the original video directly in your default web browser upon clicking play.
Direct Link: Use Watch on YouTube to open the video in your browser at any time.

Reading Settings

External Browser

Open articles in your default browser:

Click the external link button
Or configure custom browser path
Right-click → Open in browser

Starring Articles

Star/Unstar

Mark important articles:

Click the star icon on any article
Starred articles appear in the Starred filter

Starred View

Filter to show only starred articles:

Access via the Starred filter chip
Starred articles persist across sessions
Useful for bookmarking reference material

Read/Unread Tracking

Mark as Read

Articles are marked as read when:

Opened in the viewer
Use the read/unread action in the article context menu

Mark All Read

Mark all articles in a feed as read:

Right-click feed → Mark all read
Or use the Mark all read button in the toolbar

Unread Filter

Show only unread articles:

Filter chip in the article list
Badge count shows unread number
Quick way to catch up on reading

Trash & Deletion

Soft Delete

Deleted articles go to trash:

Press Delete to move to trash
Articles stay in trash for 30 days
Auto-purge after 30 days

Restore

Restore articles from trash:

Open Trash folder
Right-click → Restore
Article returns to original feed

Empty Trash

Permanently delete all trashed articles:

Right-click Trash → Empty trash
Cannot be undone

Auto-Cleanup

Configure automatic cleanup:

Cleanup read articles: Delete read articles after N days
Auto-cleanup on startup: Run cleanup when app launches

Search

Instant Search

Search across all articles:

Use the search field in the article-list header
Results update as you type
Searches title, summary, and content

Search Modes
